Activity report

As in all foundations, the highest governing and representative body responsible for the management and use of the Foundation's assets is the Board of Trustees. The day-to-day running is performed by the chairman of the body, aided by a general manager and small management team.

En la memoria del ejercicio 2008 se pueden ver básicamente los siguientes asuntos: en la Casa de Pilatos, el proceso de recuperación de la fisonomía original de las loggias del Jardín Grande y la rehabilitación de de los tejados de la crujía que circunda el patio principal; en el Pazo de Oca, el enriquecimiento del "Jardín de monstruos" con nuevas figuras topiarias; en la Sacra Capilla de El Salvador, la recuperación de su tradición musical, a través de las voces de los niños seises acompañados por el órgano dieciochesco y en cuanto a las colecciones,  la continuación de la limpieza y consolidación de la colección escultórica del I Duque de Alcalá.

The main subjects addressed in this year's report are: the project to clean and consolidate the outstanding collection of marbles of antiquity owned by the 1st Duke of Alcalá and the architectural elements he had built expressly to exhibit it at his Seville mansion known today as the Casa de Pilatos; work to restore the gardens and interiors of the Palacio de Oca in Pontevedra; the restoration of the upper choir of the Sacra Capilla del Salvador, in Úbeda; the publications brought out by the Foundation or stemming from research conducted on the Medinaceli Ducal Archive.

Some of the subjects addressed in this report include: the acquisition of one of Goya's tauromaquia (the Art of Bullfighting) etchings and a tapestry by Pannemaker; programmes to conserve and restore the coffered ceilings of the Casa de Pilatos in Seville, the mural paintings in San Miguel das Penas in Lugo, the organ and upper choir of the Sacra Capilla del Salvador in Úbeda; the refurbishment of the gardens of the Hospital San Juan Bautista (commonly known as Hospital Tavera) in Toledo; the embellishment of the gardens of the Palacio de Oca in Pontevedra; the research conducted on the Medinaceli Ducal Archive; and works belonging to the collection which have taken part in exhibitions.
